Centre of South Asian Studies (CSAS) at University of the Punjab, Lahore, on December 9, 2025 successfully organized a workshop on Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methodologies, aimed at strengthening research skills among M.Phil & PhD scholars. Dr. Qaisar Khalid Mehmood, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Muhammad Uzair, Research Officer, Deptt. Of Gender Studies, University of the Punjab were the keynote Speakers at the occasion. The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, highlighting their theoretical foundations, practical applications, and relevance in contemporary social science research. Participants gained insights into research design, data collection techniques, analytical tools, and ethical considerations essential for conducting rigorous and impactful research. Both Speakers led interactive sessions covering topics such as qualitative interviews, focus group discussions, case studies, survey design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation. The sessions encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to engage in discussions, ask questions, and explore real-world research challenges. The Guest Speakers emphasized the importance of methodological clarity in academic research, noting that a balanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods enhances the quality and credibility of scholarly work, particularly in the interdisciplinary field of South Asian Studies. The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer session and positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical orientation and academic relevance of the program.
